Dedicated to the memory of Len

This site is a tribute to our son Len, who was born in Napton on the Hill on 14 February 1999. He lived life to the full and his kind, caring and outgoing nature touched many people, particularly across the agricultural community. Len is much loved and will always be remembered. We could not be any prouder of him.

This site is a celebration of his life. Our message to everyone reading this:

The site will be used to add fund raising events for charities helping with mental health issues in young people in the agricultural sector. Massive thanks for all of your heartwarming generosity - both in donations, photos and comments. Please feel free to use the Thoughts and Life Stories sections below to help build a treasure trove of memories. We cannot thank you all enough.

Please follow this site for updates in the coming months.

Updates / News

Apologies for the lack of updates recently but so much is going on, (awareness / training) and your very generous donations are being put to good use:

Working with Yellow Wellies (FSF) the new and improved '5 a day challenge cards' are to be distributed across Young Farmers Clubs and livestock markets around the UK.

A display to dispense these cards (see slide show above) is being been delivered to 12 livestock markets.

At the National Sheep Event, Malvern we shared a stand with the DPJ Foundation.

We have a stand at the Primestock Show, Rugby Farmers Market on 28 November - Harper Adams University has kindly donated display stands.

Andy has undertaken one of the Papyrus training events on Suicide Prevention.

Lynda has undertaken DPJ Foundation training on Mental Health awareness.

FCN are using the 5 a day challenge as part of talks to farming groups & are issuing the cards at shows & events. Also initiated 'Yarn in a Barn' to encourage farmers to talk.

Papyrus produced a video with FCN participating to reinforce the available support.

Yellow Wellies developing a directory of charities & organisations that are there to support & are also expanding the Little Book of Minding Your Head & broadening its circulation.

On 13 July we attended Harper Adams Graduation day where Len's university friends accepted his masters degree award on our behalf.

The NFU magazine - British Farmer & Grower Oct 2022 - had an article on our nomination as the West Midlands representatives for the Farming Heroes event in Westminster on 1/2 Nov. We intend to canvass MPs to support a compulsory mental awareness module in the curricula of all universities and colleges.
